Add Your Voice to the Movement
Have a story you’d like to share? Whether you’re a physician, medical trainee, nurse, advanced practice clinicians, patient, or health-advocate, we invite you to add your voice to the conversation.
Sharing your story helps put a human face to policy issues and drives change. Here are some tips to help you craft a story that resonates:
Start with a moment. Describe a patient interaction or personal experience that motivated you.
Keep it clear and focused. What was the barrier or injustice? What happened? What needs to change?
Be authentic. Speak in your own voice and avoid jargon.
Link to policy. Connect your story to a real-world solution or call to action (e.g., legislation, public health measure, structural change).
Respect privacy. De-identify patients where needed, obtain consent if you reference real people, and follow HIPAA-compliant practices.
Consider format. If you’re uploading video, keep it under 2 minutes; if writing prose, aim for 300-500 words.
Review & edit. Check for clarity, tone, and impact. Then submit.
Thank you for sharing your voice. Each story brings us closer to a healthcare system where every person has access to care, dignity, and hope.
